Carol Kaye is an American musician. She is one of the most recorded bass artists in rock and pop music, performing on approximately 10,000 records in a career spanning more than 50 years. Kaye started playing guitar in his early teen years and after a stint as a guitar teacher, he began performing regularly on the Los Angeles Jazz and Big Band. She began working in 1957, and through a link with Gold Star Studios began working for producers Phil Spector and Brian Wilson. After a bassist failed to catch a session in 1963, she switched to this instrument, quickly making a name for herself as one of the most requested session musicians in the 1960s, Play on many hits. . She started playing soundtracks in the late 1960s, particularly for Quincy Jones and Lalo Schifrin, and began publishing a series of tutorial books such as How To Play The Electric Bass.
