Joy Behar is an American comedian, actress, writer, and television host. She is best known for her role as a co-host on the ABC daytime talk show The View. She has also hosted her own talk show, The Joy Behar Show, on HLN. Behar was born Josephina Victoria Occhiuto in Brooklyn, New York, on October 7, 1942. She is of Italian descent. She attended Queens College, City University of New York, where she earned a bachelor's degree in sociology. Behar began her career as a stand-up comedian in the late 1970s. She made appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Late Night with David Letterman. In 1997, she became a co-host on the ABC daytime talk show The View. She remained on the show until 2013. In 2009, Behar began hosting her own talk show, The Joy Behar Show, on HLN. The show ran for two seasons before ending in 2011. Behar has also appeared in several films, including Cookie (1989), This Is My Life (1992), and Man on the Moon (1999). As of 2021, Joy Behar's net worth is estimated to be $12 million.
