In a magazine called Fur-Fish-Game, Miranda was featured in an article about his trapping skills on February 23, 1983. Miranda received national attention and shortly thereafter started writing articles for the publication. After accepting a job as a Predator Control Trapper in South Dakota as a Predator Control Trapper in 1984 Miranda relocated into Chamberlain, South Dakota. He obtained his private pilot’s license in the year 1985.

Outdoor Adventure Magazine debuted on ESPN at 8AM Saturday morning, July 4, 1992.
