He attended the University of New Hampshire, where he studied English and journalism. Fahey began his career as a writer for the MTV game show Remote Control in 2002. He was then hired as a VJ for Total Request Live in 2003, where he remained until 2007. He also hosted the MTV game show Remote Control from 2007 to 2008. In addition to his work on television, Fahey has written for the television series The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
